What is Literary Collectibles?
Literary Collectibles is an independent literary preservation initiative that celebrates books, authors, stories, and literary history through carefully produced collectible works designed to inspire readers and preserve literary culture.
Are these trading cards?
Not in the traditional sense. Our collectibles are designed as miniature literary exhibits that introduce readers to authors, books, and stories while preserving important moments in literary history.
Who creates Literary Collectibles?
Literary Collectibles is a division of Bourgeois Media & Consulting, LLC and is supported in part by the Authors Success Center. Selected collections also help support the Texas Authors Museum & Institute of History and its Road to Texas 200 literary campaign.
What is the first collection?
The inaugural collection is being developed in connection with the 11th Annual Short Stories by Texas Authors anthology.
How can I receive updates?
Join our announcement list to receive collection news, previews, release information, and future opportunities.
Can authors participate?
Yes. Participation opportunities vary by collection.
Who else can participate?
Publishers, literary estates, museums, libraries, schools, universities, festivals, nonprofit organizations, historical societies, writing organizations, and literary programs may also participate.
Can I nominate a book or author?
Not yet. Future opportunities will allow recommendations from readers, publishers, and literary organizations.
Will older books be considered?
Yes. Preserving literary history includes important books and authors from previous years as well as new publications.
What types of collectibles can be created?
Book cards, author cards, story cards, event cards, museum editions, boxed sets, displays, posters, commemorative products, and other approved literary merchandise.
Will there be limited editions?
Yes. Every project is produced in a fixed quantity. Once an edition has completed its production run, it will not be reprinted.
Why don’t you reprint sold-out editions?
The no-reprint policy helps preserve authenticity, documented history, and long-term collectible value.
Will the collectibles be numbered?
Yes. Every collectible receives a permanent Registry number that is never duplicated or reused.
What is the Registry?
The Registry permanently documents every approved collectible, edition, and production run.
Do I keep my copyright?
Yes. Clients retain ownership of their underlying intellectual property. Literary Collectibles receives only the rights needed to produce and promote the approved project.
Will I approve my collectible before printing?
Yes. Clients review factual information before production. Literary Collectibles retains final authority over branding and design standards.
How are royalties paid?
Standard projects pay 75% of Net Revenue to the client and 25% to Literary Collectibles. Royalties are reported quarterly with a $50 minimum payout threshold.
Do I receive complimentary copies?
Yes. Clients receive one complimentary set and may purchase additional inventory at 50% off retail while supplies last.
Can collectors resell Literary Collectibles?
Yes. Authentic collectibles may be resold, and Literary Collectibles plans to support an authenticated resale marketplace.
Can I buy collectibles now?
